Corn fed and loving it!

So, when Xaid stayed with Grammy a few weeks ago, he discovered the bliss that is corn on the cob. I've never seen this child eat anything with such gusto as he does his corn. I think he would eat it for every meal of the day if I would oblige. He even has some plastic toy corn that he tries to eat! It's quite fun to watch :)
Today was Xaidy's and my first day to just hang out while brother was at school. We've been going to the gym or the park or whatever else we can find to get into. However, today we stayed home and played. I had forgotten how much easier it is to only have one child to play with, teach, and feed. We had an awesome day! It felt really good to be able to give him all of my attention and just play what he wanted to play and read what he wanted to read. Although I miss Xander throughout the day, it feels good to be able to give to Xaiden some undivided attention and get to know him the way that I know Xan.
He has been cracking me up lately! He actually told his first joke yesterday and laughed hysterically afterward! We were at Xander's old school helping Nicolle get her classroom ready, when I discovered that he had a stinky diaper. As I was changing him, I asked him who pooped in his pants, and he said, "BeeBee (Baby is what he calls himself)" and I told Nicolle that he usually blames it on his Poppa. Once I got his diaper changed, he got up, went over to Nicolle and said, "Poppa poopoo!" then laughed! It was so cool to see him tell a joke, his little personality and sense of humor are coming out more and more each day.

He's also a sensitive little guy. He worries about other people a lot. When Pops and Bubba are wrestling and get a little loud, it upsets him. Apparently, he worries just as much about his stuffed animals as he does his brother because I put him down for a nap today and he started bawling before I even left the room. I went over to him and asked him what was wrong and he said, "Bee ear nonie!" which translates to "Bear's ear hurts!" I looked at his gi-normus bear that his LaLa got him for Valentine's Day and it's ear was folded over between the crib bars. So, I came to the rescue for Bee and sat her up straight, got her ear out of the bars, gave it a kiss, and all was well with the world! It was so stinkin' cute!
School has been going quite well for Xander. He's got a new girlfriend. Apparently, the one that he fell in love with the first day (which he still doesn't know her name) said that she didn't want to be his friend (repeatedly). So, he had to move on. It sounds like he's made a better choice with this one, as he knows her name (Sunshine), and they play together on the playground. The only hiccup in this relationship is that she says she can't marry him because she's going to marry "Justin Beaver!" It was very difficult not to laugh when he told me this; however, I told him that maybe she would change her mind if they were friends long enough :) He's also made a friend named Sam on the bus, and is the only kid in his class to go all the way across the monkeybars! Woohoo! Go XanMan!
I can't seem to talk him into smiling for pictures anymore, so I figured we might as well both do the mean face. Don't mess with us!

I'm baaack.....hopefully :)

Ok, so it's been almost a year since my last post! Aaaaah! Things have been absolutely crazy! We've moved, been remodeling, dealing with medical stuff, but things seem like they are finally regaining some sense of normalcy.

Xander started kindergarten last Thursday, and he is absolutely loving it! When he got home, I asked him, "What did you do today?" and he said, "I fell in love!" That's right! We are in big trouble with this guy...totally girl crazy! He doesn't know her name, but he does know that he loves her. He also thinks that he is big stuff because he gets to ride the school bus. Something that we didn't really want to do, but with Xaid's nap schedule, there was really no getting around it. He was disappointed Friday night when he found out that there was no school the next day, so I guess this is a good thing. We are definitely having a positive start to the school year!

Xaiden doesn't think that Xander going to school is very cool. He's really been having a hard time adjusting to being in the Kidzone at the gym all by himself. He cried for an hour and a half on Thursday at the gym and walked around saying, "Bubba?Bubba?" He's slowly adjusting. Today he just sat on a chair for an hour next to Lupe (the only worker that can get him to stop crying) while I trained my client. Other than that, Xaid has been doing well and learning lots of stuff! He's really into colors right now, adores his bike, and loves to mow! I've never seen a child his size run the way he does! It's incredible! He's also beginning to develop quite the personality. In general, he's pretty mellow and easily entertained, but can be EXTREMELY stubborn about certain things. It's amazing how different the boys are, but they have a lot of things in common too!
Sorry if this post wasn't too interesting/exciting/entertaining. At this point, I'm just hoping that I will be able to start posting again...much more frequently!
